About the Market
The mission of the new Clayton Farmer's Market is to promote good foods from locally grown producers and regionally branded products that appeal to dedicated Market-goers, support local farmers, spotlight organic items as well as other unique or seasonal specialties, and to educate the public about the preparation of local seasonal food.

Straub's has given considerable thought to defining the "more" component of the new Market. As such, all items for sale shall be Missouri/Illinois-made and food-themed products with emphasis on the home-grown, home-made or hand crafted. Straub's shall have a booth/booths to showcase certain unique specialty items, sometimes with sampling, and always with a "foodie" theme and appeal. The goal for adding "more" is to expand the reach and appeal of the Market, so that new customers will be enthused about discovering the weekly opportunity.

The Market will be located on the Straub's employee parking lot at the west end of the Straub's grocery store at 8282 Forsyth. Parking for visitors has been secured and approved on Brown Shoe Company's east side parking lot. Additional parking for vendors is available in the parking lot located directly behind Brown Shoe.

YEP, IT'S ON! - May 2007   Sauce Magazine
Worried fans of the Clayton Farmers' Market can rest assured that the market will indeed continue, albeit in a slightly different form. Now sponsored by Straub's and under the guidance of new market master Sarah Vickers, it will be located on the Straub's employee parking lot at the west end of the grocer's Clayton store at 8282 Forsyth Blvd. The market will continue its emphasis on locally grown and produced foods and will retain its popular chef demonstrations; the new, larger space will allow for the addition of live music and local crafts, Vickers said. The Saturday morning market will kick off its 2007 season on May 19.

TO MARKET, TO MARKET - April 18th, 2007   St. Louis Post-Dispatch
The Clayton Farmer's Market will live thanks to Straub's grocery at 8282 Forsyth Avenue (Blvd). After market master Julie Ridlon retired recently, the city was scrambling to try to find a replacement. Straub's stepped up and offered to host the market on their parking lot and to make Sarah Vickers, one of their employees, the new market master. The weekly Clayton Farmer's Market will open May 19 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The market will feature all the organic farmers and goodies it has always had, a city spokesman said Tuesday.

CLAYTON FARMERS MARKET - April 17th, 2007   A Veggie Venture (blog)
After losing its market master, the Clayton Farmers Market came close to not happening this year but will now open on Saturday, May 19th (8:30 - 12:30) with a new sponsor (Straub's), a new location (the parking lot west of Straub's Clayton store) and a new market master (the charming Sarah Vickers)
